Sister
04:37
|
|||
You were my sister, you were also my first kill
More a catastrophe than a deliberate act of will
One half of a fruitful womb, half of flesh and bone
An emptiness that follows me in a life I lead alone
You're my sister, my continual ordeal
No sleep in sixteen years, this hurt can never heal
One half of a fruitful womb, half of flesh and bone
An emptiness that follows me in a life I lead alone
So sure I'll never become whole
Severed Siamese soul
And I'm so scared of my meanderings
And indifference
Silent sister, pure serenity and grace
Haunting accusations in every female face
One half of a fruitful womb
Half of flesh and bone
An emptiness that follows me in a life I lead alone
Incomplete gestation
Umbilical strangulation
Rip apart this matted blood clot
Psycho patched up guilt trip shit
Feel a need for cutting loose
From this carbon coloured karmic noose
Break away from the shadow play
And the torment of my mind
Silent sister that's so easy to conceal
A twisted broken secret I cannot reveal
One half of a fruitful womb
One half of flesh and bone
An emptiness that follows me in a life I lead alone

Witness
02:37
|

She's a witness to the phenomena
She's a guide for the other side
Whilst sceptics try disclaim her
She lets intelligence decide
And I could clearly see the three of us
Were drawing to her
Almost wrapped around her
Almost breathing through her
In her eyes you saw
Everything that's gone before
Life events like little soldiers in a row
To show us where the path might leads us
Familiar faces to receive us
Glowing bright like burning beacons in a row
She's the sum of the equation
Stepping stones to the other side
So deliberately unspoken
She brings hope where hope had died
And I could clearly see a chance for me
To find the answers
Almost handed to me, almost easily
She's a witness to experience
She's a guide for the other side
And I'm feeling so elated
Now we can cross this great divide
And once I'm there I can find out just
What really happened
Distorted paper lies
There'll be no way to hide
Behind misplaced files
And stern denials
During all of my dispassionate youth
I've been shielded from the truth

Beautiful Decay
03:03
|
|||
Skin is cool to touch
She’s lost the warmth that we all knew
Breathing shallow now
And the heart is beating slower too
No sand within the hourglass to spare
The light inside the room is just a glare
Those empty sullen eyes can only stare
As she smiles and then slowly fades away
In the beautiful decay
She’s seeing visions now
That beckon from beyond the grave
Systems shutting down
There’s a matter of moments left to save
We discount the natural order
We are consumed with feeling
We skirt around the border
We only talk of healing
We shy away from reason
We blur the truth with lies
We fear the greater treason
Of our ungrateful goodbyes
No sand within the hourglass to spare
The light inside the room is just a glare
Those empty sullen eyes can only stare
A lifetimes worth of tender loving care
No sand within the hourglass to spare
The light inside the room is just a glare
Those empty sullen eyes can only stare
As she smiles and fades away

The Ones We Adored
04:08
|
|||
Like a child so curious
Take a step across the line
Nothing extraordinary
Holy or divine
They raise their eyes to the skies
A hundred thousand or more
This situation is hopelessly flawed
As we search for the ones we adored
They scream aloud if you touch them
Though the only flesh here is ours
This situation is hopelessly flawed
As we search for the ones we adored
Feel your heartbeat skip the rhythm
Try your best to show no fear
Everyone now staring at us
They can’t believe we're here
They hold their hands in the air
Roll their heads in their slumber
It could take a lifetime to work through this hoard
As we search for the ones we adored
Distorted illusion, the hope infused spark
Scarred by my teardrops indelibly marked
Those still with memories may know their own name
My fated sibling, my burden of shame
How can I search out a girl with no name
Despite my expedience, it could all be in vain
With no other path that could lessen the pain
This continual torment will drive me insane
A swaying sea of faceless faces
The essence that remains
We’re the only ones who feel the lifeblood
Coursing through our veins

Children of The Shoah
06:17
|
|||
We came across a new place
Somehow darker than before
Another hundred thousand sleepers
Maybe a hundred thousand more
These Stars of David, this innocence
All cut down in their youth
A thousand oceans of mother’s tears
A testament of truth.
They come to gather round us
Like moths towards the light
We seem to sense their history
But can we understand their plight?
The bitter almond of Zyklon B
The faces stained in blue
The fraying threads of memories
O what little life they knew.
If we could look inside their eyes
If we could feel what they were feeling
A way of life that’s torn apart
Incited prejudice and hatred
And it’s so hard to understand
Man’s inhumanity to man
This master plan?
How can we allow this to pass by?
How can we let this be forgotten, forgotten?
If we could’ve seen inside their hearts
Could we have neutralised the poison?
It’s so hard to comprehend
How they could justify this end
So called solution?
People hang remorseful heads
As they holiday in hell
And even birds will hold their song
In the places where you fell
The trees will keep the secret
Though they bare witness to the crime
No monument can be worthy
And there’ll be no healing with the time
The shame of the century
With the blood still on our hands.
Voices will not be silenced
As the truth at last demands
Be careful where you step...
The grave is wide

Stray or Follow
05:17
|
|||
Something has clipped my wings
Reminded me I’m no angel
A clumsy staggering foal
On a wide uneven road
And I can barely lift my eyes
To see the transcendental treachery unfold
Something has dashed my hopes
Brought me right back down to earth
A crude and graceless serf
Stumbling since birth
But my eyes are permanently open now
I can finally see what life is really worth
You can choose to follow
Or you can choose to stray
But the path set out before you
Never changes in any way
From the breathless heights of my vantage point
Now the bilious clouds have parted
Reveal the truth behind the lie
What really happens when we die
The night is nothing short of rest
Before the sunlight wakes this beautiful new day
You can take it easy
Or rage against the light
But the sun will always pale away
And give way to the night
Everywhere there are crossroads
Footpaths, tracks and lines
You can stay true to the noble cause
If you’ve learnt to read the signs

A Century of Lullabies
03:31
|
|||
After the bright light fades
And I’ve come down from the ceiling
From the brink of uncertainty
My hands regain their feeling
As if to break the unbearable silence
Machinery starts bleeping
A shock to the orthodox backdrop
Awakened from this sleeping
Having run the length and breadth of the spiritual sky
Having heard the words of a century of lullabies
I kept my grip on my silver chord
I had to hold my nerve and cunning
To cheat the greatest of mysteries
Find a way to end my pain
It took a charged up defibrillator
To get my motor running
Breathing the air again
I sense the life flow back through my veins
Hush now little one please don’t stir
Leave your memories where they were
It won’t be long before morning comes
And oh what joy and oh what fun
Oh what joy and fun
It won’t be long before it’s all undone
Oh what joy and fun

The race is run in darkness and we rarely understand
That reaching out for answers is like counting grains of sand
Every now and then we are bathed in the purist light
Of a lonely distant lighthouse that penetrates the night
Every now and then we reach and touch the stars
Catch a glimpse of the eternal that runs through who we are
Everything breaks down and everything decays
We have to constantly remember that nothing lasts forever
That when we form attachments, when we invest our all
Nothing lasts forever we're just setting up to fall
Like the flowing river and the lush green land
That will one day start to wither and turn to desert sand
So when we form attachments and cover up our eyes
Nothing lasts forever, we just believe in our own lies
Everything’s reborn and everything’s recycled
We have to constantly remember that everything’s born again
When you perceive the true nature and you’ve no fear of the future
The constraints of forever will combine and give you strength
And when the day comes that you return unto the earth
Remember death is your placenta and its essential for rebirth

Never a good time to choose just when
To come back down to earth,
I never adjusted to weightlessness
Suspended like my own pre-birth
Takes more than a leap of faith
To space-walk through this culture
You need to understand the past
Before you redefine the future
Open your eyes to the clear blue skies
And you’ll be open to my story
Take a walk in the meadows
Of the incredible space beyond
Reach behind the reflection
You’re convinced is so familiar
A trick of the light that seeks to hide the truth
That you have yet to know
And I’m ready and willing to share it
But for now there’s just one problem
Coming round one final time
Before I slow down for re-entry
There’s really no way out of this
Can I find a way to land her gently
No room for manoeuvring
There’s just no margin here to fail
But I could be the first one
To make it back to tell the tale
Try suspend hardened disbelief
Hang around to hear my story
Take a stroll through the vastness
Of the shimmering great beyond
See behind the reflection
You’re convinced is so familiar
A trick of the light that seeks to hide the truth
That you are soon to know
Cause I am ready and willing to share it
But for now there’s just one problem

Cathode Ray Light
07:46
|
|||
A cathode ray light frames her existence
A light in the ether - a sound in the silence
Like a solitary standing stone
She sits there alone
She dreamt of the night that he left her
The pain of her sobbing, the depth of her grief
Still silently loving her
And never far away
He reached out his arms in the blackness
She was sure that a cold hand was touching her cheek
So hard to begin all the letting go
When you've never felt so weak
Killing cliché spits he's in a better place
This telephone suffocates her last remaining grace
So little comfort in the widening of space
Force-fed reminders, pulling, pushing in her face
The fear now swells this awakening hell
And shrouds her everything
Bathed in blue from the cathode tube
Absorbing everything
She can barely hear softened voices near
Oblivious to everything
Bathed in blue from the cathode tube
Absorbing everything
Revolving minutes mangled moments in her head
Crushing, bleaching, blurring, bleeds the triplight red
To catch the phrase that's damning, hanging by a thread
Repeating out those ringing final words he said
And somewhere softly spoken voices
Slowly soaking through
The gaudy awkward predictable words
If there's anything I can do?

Endscape Navigator

In the thirty years that it’s taken me to grow
It’s thirty years and I’m feeling rather small
I can read between the lines
Read between the lines
There are so many things
That we were never meant to know
So the spoils of the century
I hold cradled in my arms
This love, this hate, this fear and hope
Is it all to waste?
What will it take
For you to reach out and embrace me?
What would it take
Just to feel close to you again?
And I’m convinced they’re all asleep
I’m convinced they’re all asleep
Erasing their emotion, their devotion
Just to start it all again
Erasing their devotion
Sanctioned disillusion
To be pure once again
Erasing their emotion
Like returning to the ocean
Just to start it all again
So now my questions are all answers
I cracked the riddle – broke the rhyme
Through my attempt to navigate Elysium
Long before my time
Between existence and the emptiness
Lies the single truth of light
We’re all afraid of our luminosity
Afraid of burning bright
